These are some of the images that i took that i will be having in my music magazine, all these images are suitable as they are not blury they are clear and of good enough quality.

My content page.

Analysis.

This is the content page i created for my music magazine, i planned before i did my content page, i made a flat plan and analysed a professional music magazine, by doing this it gave me creative ideas for my content page and helped me know what features i needed to include in my content page.

First of all in my content page i used a unisex colour as my music magazine is aimed at both genders, the colour i used wasn’t too bright that it takes the attention away from the text of images used but bright enough to be eye catching and looking professional.

i also included certain features i believed were needed in a content page to make it successful:

Central image - the image of the right hand side is the main central image, it’s the image that is seen first, this is done so that the audience focuses on the articles that the editor thinks is most important or will interest the audience the most.

An editor’s letter - the editors letter is places on the content page so that the readers can have the option or not to read more about the editor of the music magazine.

Logo - the logo of the magazine is placed at the bottom right hand corner, the logo is placed on every page to represent which magazine the content is from.

Furthermore i included certain 'insiders' from different articles and put the number of the page they were from so that it would entice the audience into wanting to read the article.

As well As this to avoid copyright the images that i took offline i edited the slightest just by either making the image a little darker or lighter.

Future improvements that could be made:

more variety of colour, the text on the content page was only black or white which is a little dull, brighter colours could have been used for certain parts of the text which was most important.

Furthermore i could include a 'pull out quote' for future improvements from a certain article which would help give the reader an insider into the article.

And finally i could include the page numbers at the bottom of each page including the content pages.

definition of Genre -
a style or category of art, music, or literature.

Definition od Sub-genre -
subdivision of a genre of literature, music, film, etc.

Definition of Hybrid-genre -
A cross-genre is a genre in fiction that blends themes and elements from two or more different genres.

I have been testing differnt fonts for the masthead for my magazine, dicing which would be most suitable for the name and genre of my magazine, the 6th one down i believed to be the most suitable font for the masthead as the font is bold black text which can infer that the magazine is a strong indipendent magazine as well as this the font also has a twist at the end of the 'S' this gives the font a more lively and professional look to the masthead making the magazine look sucessful and professional the main aim of the front cover, as teh front cover gives the first impression to the target audience and sells the magazine.

Content page Analysis.

This content page is pulled out from the music magazine 'Q', in this content page there are features that make the content page successful in its aims.
First of all the content page includes insider images for certain article that may interest the readers into reading certain articles.
A close up image is used as one of the insider images this has been done to make the reader curious about who the person is, and why she is bleeding then by knowing the page number the reader will be able to be directed straight to the page and realise what the image was resembling and who the celeb is, in this case Lana Del Rey. i have used this technique as i believe it makes the content page look professional if done in a successful way.
Furthermore on the left hand side of the content page there is certain information liked with page number that the magazine think their target audience will want to read about.
Using the white back ground helps the colourful images stand out and also allows the text to stand out and be clear for the readers.
Using red text for the article on page 58 indicates to the reader that this is something they must do or read, as its the most important article in the magazine and this is why the magazine editor decided to highlight it.
Clear heading/title directly at the top of the page in elegant font represents the magazine as a professional and well set out, successful magazine.
On this content page the magazine has included a slogan placed just underneath the heading ' discover great music' this text is in a bright colour which stands out from the white background but also stands out from other text as the colour used is red which is more eye catching, this has been done so that the audience see the slogan and are re-ensured that the magazine are still passionate about their music and that the publishing is represented well.

As well as this in this content page on the right hand corner at the bottom is the logo for the magazine 'Q' its been placed here so that its noticed but also its not to big that it takes attention away from the other features of the content page, the logo shows the brand on the magazine and is placed on each page to represent the page and where it has come from.

These are the results I collected from my questionnaire that I shared via twitter and email, I concluded the results after a minimum of 10 filled out questionnaires, I created the questionnaire on 'survey monkey' and asked various questions that I believed would help me decide certain aspects of the music magazine, hearing it straight from the targeted audience would help me know what they want to see in a music magazine so I have solid evidence of what the public want, knowing this and interpreting this into my music magazine should make the magazine successful and succeed in all its aims.
The conclusion of all the results from the questionnaire are:
that the main audience will be teenage girls, the colour scheme will defiantly have black in it but there was a tie between pink and red, I therefore had to make a choice and I chose the colour scheme to be red and black as I believe red is a unisex colour and I want my music magazine to be aimed at both sex so its a wider marketing audience, the music that will be featuring in the music magazine will be indie/rock the special/give away that will be in my music magazine will be voucher and music based, certain bands such as One Direction and Arctic Monkeys will be featured in the magazine and solo artist such as Drake, Ariana, Demi Lovato and Lana Del Rey will also be featuring and that the magazine price can vary anywhere between £1-£4 as this was the highest willing price.
This is the mood board that I created for my inspiration for the music magazine that I will be creating and I have just gathered images and colours that relate to the results from the questionnaires that I sent out, this mood board will help me gather ideas for the content of the articles and helps me know what the audience wants from the results being gathered so that I can make the best possible music magazine that my target audience wants so its successful.

Analysis of a front cover.
For this front cover they have used a main image, the image used of Lana Del Rey is a mid shot and dominates the front cover, being eye catching and making the audience interact and want to buy the magazine, the image used of Lana brings the 'princess' convention in yet Lana's facial emotions are opposite to what a princess should be looking like, Lana is seen in the image not smiling and bleeding from the head this could infer that she is not happy with her life, she may seem to the public as a 'princess' but inside she's not, she just tries to be for the camera but she's not happy being a 'princess'.
This may interest the readers into wanting to know the story behind the image of Lana Del Rey.

The text 'Lana Del Rey' is in a different font to the rest of the writing and is also in a different colour, the colour used for this text is pink, which infers that Lana is a girlie-girl and likes to be represented in that way, the font used is like a marker pen, the text underneath says 'so what's so bloody good?' which gives an informal tone, which gives an opposite feel to the magazine from the 'dark' image used, this may interest the readers into wanting to read the article about Lana Del Rey to see what the article is based on and why these messages are being displayed as the main 'insider' of the whole magazine.

The barcode is displayed at the bottom right hand corner and the logo at the top left hand corner, enlarged and in the red bright colour so its the second thing you notice on the front page, this is done because the logo is showing the brand of the magazine and is an important feature of the magazine so that the audience know what genre based magazine it is etc.

At the top of the front page cover the text reads '140 you must download now', picking out certain words as 'must' makes the magazine seem demanding which makes the audience seem like they need to do what the magazine is telling them to do, as well as this using the word 'now' also makes the magazine seem demanding and also making the audience feel like its something they 'must' do right 'now' because its important or exciting for the readers.

The text 'exclusive pro green' is in pink text so that it stands out from other text and the background attracting Professor Green fans into wanting to read the magazine to see what 'news', 'gossip' or information is based on him, the word 'exclusive' makes the reader think that they have to read it to be one of the first fan to know about his latest news, music etc. as well as this the word 'exclusive' also makes the magazine seem significant to others as if they are the only magazine that is publishing this information, making the audience want to buy the magazine knowing they will be told the latest news and information.

The text "Jay-Z and Kayne West" is in red, bold text which is unusual because it doesn't link in with the bold pink text for the other text that is used for the other insiders for the articles but yet the colour red is linked with the colour of the logo 'Q' which may show the importance of the article as the logo a very important aspect of the front cover.

The background colour is white plane so that all the text stand out but yet also so the main image stands out from the background, the white background makes the pink text eye catching to the audience and noticeable.

The colourful text used in this front cover helped me decide to used bright colours so they are noticeable and stands out.
Double page analysis.
On the double page spread of the article of Lana Del Rey, the use of a main image on the left, filling the whole page tells the readers straight away what the article is about or what the article is based on yet also gives some eye catching colour on the article instead of having just writing, which makes the audience want to read the article and engage into what 'news' is about Lana Del Rey.
furthermore the article also has a 'Drop Capital' the big, bold 'S' which indicates where the start of the article begins and again being eye catching so that the audience notice the article, as well as this there are two text columns this is done so that the text is set out as a clear setting instead of being cluttered so its easier for the readers to read and looks more professional.
The second page of the double spread is made up of mostly text which stands out to the reader, there are no images used on the second page.
This article includes more than one 'Drop Capital' in it, this indicates where the start of the paragraph beings, the first 'Drop Capital' is more enlarged than the second just to indicate to the readers where the first paragraph starts.
In this article the bold title is the name of the artist that is featured in the article, 'Lana Del Rey' this has been done so its noticed before any of the other text so the audience once again will know who the article is about so they can choose whether or not they would like to read the article.
This double page spread also includes the page number on the bottom corner of each page this helps the audience fine the right page faster from the content page
The colour scheme for the double page spread is based on the black and white colours the only colours that are used other than black and white are the colours from the images and the red little logo in the bottom hand corner.
The text font and size, the text font is an elegant font which portrays the featured artists in the article and again making the article look more professional, the text size varies in this article the first text column is bigger than the second text column this may have been done so that the audience knew which paragraph was the start of the article.
This article contains the logo of the magazines brand which is 'Q' magazine, the logos on the double page spread is places at the bottom corner of each page to represent the brand of the magazine which published the article.
The background colour of the second page on this double page spread is white which makes the black bold text stand out from the background which creates a element of class, elegance and simplicity.
Finally on the double page spread at the bottom of the page in small font is a web address which is used to tell the readers where else they can read about it and will let them know the web address of 'Q' online magazine which will help build a bigger audience online as well as for the publication.

Using the images that i had taken and making sure that they were suitable for the front cover and using the flat plan cover i created my front cover including the price, date, image, barcode and then display competitions so that the audeince can have an insider of the magazine to see what the magazine can offer if they buy the product, all the planning helped make the front cover so that i considered all the aspects such as the suitability of the image and how it should be set out also what to include in the front cover.
